This is facilitated within a safe, supportive space, in which your experiences are understood and validated, resources are optimised and new tools and techniques offered to assist you towards freedom and success.
My aim is to join you where you are, accompany you in your unique journey; to support, facilitate, coach and sometimes challenge you, as you utilise your own power to heal, grow and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Low mood, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable states that many of us experience at some point in our lives. I can support you to find your own way to recover your motivation, perspective, and joy in life.

Anxiety, fear, low self-esteem and hopelessness are a few outcomes that can linger, long after disturbing or traumatic events. I employ traditional counselling skills as the foundation for my approach but integrate brief strategic techniques to create a session tailored to each individual's needs. No two sessions are the same because everyone is different and each client's needs change throughout the course of therapy.
We all experience hypnotic trances naturally many times a day: every time we go to sleep and wake up; when we daydream or drive a familiar journey. In this comfortably relaxed state, in which the client remains in complete control, the unconscious mind is more accessible and open to suggestion. Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of this natural state to achieve a client's goals. The client is ALWAYS in control and will only accept suggestions with which they are in complete agreement.
NLP is an off-shoot of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy and is sometimes described as hypnosis without trance. It offers what amounts to a user's manual for the mind and behaviour. Based on our understanding of how the neurological system functions NLP is the skilful use of language and practical application of specific techniques to change or enhance the patterns or programmes that control our feelings and behaviours.
EFT is a form of Energy Psychology, based on an amalgamation of ancient Chinese medicine and Western psychotherapy. It is often referred to as 'emotional acupuncture without needles'. Using acupressure techniques, this ground-breaking approach offers a simple, powerful and effective method for changing feelings and thoughts and relieving physical and emotional pain. It often works where nothing else will. Used either on its own or integrated with other approaches, such as traditional counselling or NLP, it often hastens the course of therapy and can achieve spectacular results relatively painlessly.
As a practitioner with over 25 years experience of mental health including work in the community and secure hospitals, I am pretty unshockable but open to be surprised! I am averse to professional masks but for those who are interested I have an honours degree (BSc) in Psychology and Counselling Psychology and have undertaken further postgraduate training in Psychotherapy and Counselling (MA). I subscribe to a basic humanistic-existential philosophy and believe passionately in equality, self-acceptance, authenticity, independence and self-determination. I favour a permissive and facilitative approach to therapy in which the client is always the authority on themselves. I believe in action, not just talking and that many tools are better than one and so I have added some cutting edge creative methods to my toolkit including NLP, hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Technique. I also have a diploma in Integrated Energy Techniques; am an NLP Practitioner, an Advanced EFT Practitioner and an EFT International Accredited Certified EFT Master Trainer. I have a certificate in Hypnotherapy (HypCert) and a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy (DCH/Dip. Clin Hyp.).
I am a Member of the British Psychological Society (BPsS); The British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP (BIH); The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH); and EFT International (EFTi).

I offer a free initial chat by phone or Zoom without obligation. It gives both of us the opportunity to decide if we can work together to achieve your goals.
That can vary between clients and from session to session. It depends on the issue and what you are comfortable with. The initial consultation should give us both an idea of what can be achieved and how the sessions can be best tailored to your needs.
My fees are £80.00 an hour.
This depends entirely on the issue. Some issues can be dealt with in a single session and others require more. The initial consultation should give an indication of the likely timescale. Any ongoing therapy will include regular reviews to ensure that we are still on course to achieve your goal.
Yes. Confidentiality and trust are crucial in any therapeutic relationship. There are only two situations in which your case will ever be discussed with anyone else:
1) During my clinical supervision, which is an ethical requirement of most of the therapeutic governing bodies. Its aim is to ensure that therapeutic work remains safe and effective. During this supervision your case could be discussed anonymously.
2) I am legally required to notify the relevant authorities if you tell me that you or another person, is in grave and immediate danger of serious harm or for the prevention, detection or prosecution of a serious crime (e.g. terrorism). I should point out that in over 25 years of practice I have never had to do this without my client's consent.
Once a session is booked I require 48 hours' notice of a cancellation. Without this notice the full fee will be payable.
